With this product you will be purchasing one bulk package of freshly ground and cooked freeze dried bison with a net weight of 14.0 ounces, packaged for long term storage. We bring this bison in from a very reputable US rancher - it is all natural, grass fed/free ranging bison and then we grind it locally with no additives, slow cook it in small batches by hand (no microwaves or machines) and freeze dry it all in the same day, so it is as fresh as you can get. And we don’t add a single thing to it - not even salt. So the ingredient list is as simple as it gets; bison. No antibiotics used, no hormones and no inhuman treatment! This bag contains 14 ounces of ground bison, which is the equivalent of 56 ounces / 3-1/2 pounds (AFTER cooking it and draining all the fat off) if purchased at your local high-end specialty butcher shop once rehydrated and ready for use. Each ounce of ground bison will weigh approximately 4 ounces of freshly cooked ground bison when rehydrated.

After we are done cooking and freeze drying, each ounce of freeze dried cooked ground bison will be the equivalent of 7-8 ounces of raw, uncooked ground bison. Between the cooking, draining of fats, and freeze drying, we reduce the weight of our fresh ground bison by almost 90%.
