One package of fully cooked, freeze dried ground bison packaged for long-term storage. The product is vacuum sealed in a resealable, easy-tear pouch and contains 14.0 ounces of freeze dried ground bison.

Rehydration & Use

To use, rehydrate with water for a few minutes according to the instructions on the label, heat, and serve. Because the product is fully cooked before freeze drying, it is convenient for camping, backpacking, emergency food supplies, or quick meals at home. It can also be eaten directly from the pack as a crunchy, high-protein snack.

Yield & Equivalents

A 14.0 ounce package of freeze dried ground bison reconstitutes to a substantially larger volume and weight: the manufacturer states the package yields the equivalent of about 56 ounces (approximately 3.5 pounds) of cooked bison after rehydration and draining. Each ounce of freeze dried product generally rehydrates to several ounces of prepared meat.

Packaging & Storage

The pouch includes an integrated resealable closure. Store unopened pouches in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Once opened, reseal the pouch tightly and store according to the label instructions.

Shelf Life & Storage

• Unopened, pouches are guaranteed for at least 10 years when stored properly in factory-sealed packaging and kept out of direct sunlight.
• After opening, keep the oxygen absorber and moisture desiccant inside when possible and reseal the pouch; remaining product is best used within 90 days when stored at ambient conditions. Using a home vacuum sealer to remove residual air can extend freshness.
