One 12.5-ounce package of fully cooked, freeze-dried ground elk packaged for long-term storage. The product is vacuum sealed in a moisture- and oxygen-reduced environment and packed in a re-sealable easy-tear pouch for convenient use and travel.

Yield and Usage

• One 12.5-ounce pouch of freeze-dried cooked ground elk reconstitutes to approximately 50 ounces (about 3-1/8 pounds) of cooked ground elk when rehydrated and drained.
• Each ounce of freeze-dried product yields roughly 4 ounces of freshly cooked ground elk when rehydrated; each ounce of freeze-dried cooked ground elk is roughly equivalent to 7-8 ounces of raw, uncooked ground elk before cooking and draining.

Storage & Shelf Life

• Unopened pouches have a shelf life of up to 10 years when stored in the factory packaging and kept out of direct sunlight in a dry, rodent-free location.
• After opening, reseal the pouch and keep any oxygen absorber and moisture desiccant inside; remaining contents are best used within about 90 days, though proper resealing or home vacuum sealing can extend freshness.
