With this product you will be purchasing one bulk package of freeze dried fresh sliced avocado with a net weight of 6.0 ounces per bag, packaged for long term storage. This bag contains approximately the equivalent of roughly 6 average avocados - peeled and sliced for you (packed by weight, not be count), or about the equivalent of 1-1/2 pounds of fresh sliced avocados if purchased at your local produce department once rehydrated and ready for use. Each ounce of freeze dried avocado will weigh approximately 4 ounces of fresh avocado when rehydrated. These avocados are ready to eat, so they are perfect to take on a hike or a camping trip to cook over a small stove or an open campfire - without the hassle, mess and waste of having to lug a cooler around with a lot of ice. And YOU get to decide not only how to season them - you can even snack on them right out of the bag on the go like healthy avocado chips? Simply rehydrate with water for a few minutes (instructions on the label) and season to your liking and serve! Great for the kitchen OR the trail!
Preparation: Rehydrate avocado in cold water for 1 hour, drain excess water, and eat! You can use them on the sandwich, on a toast, in scrambled eggs, in guacamole, in salads, as a salad dressing, or any other way. Avocados contain quite a bit of potassium, dietary fiber, and fats. Avocado oil alone is almost two-thirds (71%) monounsaturated fatty acids — aka the “good fats” shown to lower LDL, or “bad,” cholesterol and increase HDL, or “good,” cholesterol. Additionally, avocados are loaded with nutrients such as vitamin C, vitamin K, vitamin B, vitamin E, and vitamin A. Avocados are also a good source of dietary fiber. So they are just a great item to have in a disaster preparedness kit.
Ingredients Ingredients: Avocado (sliced), citric acid, ascorbic acid (to promote color retention).
