This is a bulk package of freeze-dried, fully cooked diced onions packaged for long-term storage. The product is vacuum sealed in a moisture- and oxygen-free environment and packed in an easy-tear, resealable bag with an integrated zip closure.

• Rehydration: Each ounce of freeze-dried onion yields approximately 8.5 ounces of rehydrated diced onion. The 2.0-ounce bag rehydrates to about 17 ounces of fresh diced onions.

These diced onions are fully cooked prior to freeze drying for convenience. They are lightweight and shelf-stable, making them ideal for hiking, camping, backpacking, emergency food storage, or everyday cooking. Rehydrate the amount you need with water for a few minutes (follow label instructions) and use in omelets, soups, salads, pizzas, casseroles, and more.

Packaging and Storage

The pouch includes a resealable closure to help preserve freshness after opening. For longest storage life, keep unopened pouches sealed and stored out of direct sunlight in a cool, dry place.

Shelf Life & Storage

• Unopened: 25+ year shelf life when stored sealed and kept out of direct sunlight. Modern multi-layer mylar packaging helps extend shelf life when unopened.
• After opening: With the resealable closure and oxygen control (oxygen absorber/desiccant left in the pouch), remaining contents will generally keep for approximately 3 months to 1 year depending on storage conditions. Using a home vacuum sealer to remove residual air can extend leftover shelf life to 5+ years in many cases.

Use & Handling

• Rehydration: Add water to the desired amount and let sit for a few minutes; drain excess water if needed. Follow any label instructions for best results.
• Ideal uses: Soups, stews, omelets, salads, casseroles, pizza toppings, and any recipe calling for diced onions.
