One bulk pouch of freeze dried United States shredded cheddar cheese packaged for long-term storage. The cheese is vacuum sealed in a moisture- and oxygen-free, multi-layered mylar pouch with an easy-tear top and resealable closure for convenient portioning and storage.

• Net weight: 16 ounces (freeze-dried)
• Rehydration: Each ounce of freeze-dried cheddar yields approximately three ounces of fresh cheese when rehydrated; this pouch rehydrates to about 3 pounds of fresh shredded cheddar.
• Uses: Ideal for hiking, camping, emergency food storage, recipe add-ins, or a high-protein snack straight from the bag.
• Preparation: Rehydrate with water for a few minutes according to label instructions; use in cooked dishes or enjoy as-is.

Shelf Life & Storage

• Unopened: Up to 10 years or more when stored in the original sealed pouch out of direct sunlight and in a rodent-free area. Modern multi-layer mylar packaging can often extend usable life beyond this under ideal conditions.
• After opening: Reseal the pouch using the built-in closure; with the oxygen absorber and desiccant in place, remaining contents will generally keep 3 months to 1 year depending on conditions. Using a home vacuum sealer or replacing oxygen absorbers can extend storage life.

Handling Tips

• Keep pouches dry and sealed when not in use.
• For longer-term storage after opening, transfer to an airtight container with fresh oxygen absorbers.
