Product Details

Bulk package of freeze-dried uncooked catfish fillets packaged for long-term storage. The fillets are vacuum sealed in an oxygen- and moisture-controlled environment and packed in a resealable, easy-tear mylar bag for convenience and extended shelf life.

• Net weight (freeze-dried): 5.5 ounces
• Rehydrates to approximately 33 ounces (about 2 pounds) of fresh catfish
• Each ounce of freeze-dried catfish rehydrates to roughly six ounces of fresh catfish

Ingredients

Boneless, skinless catfish; water; tripolyphosphate (to retain moisture). Contains fish (catfish).

Usage & Preparation

1. Rehydrate the fillets by adding water and letting stand for a few minutes following package instructions.
2. After rehydration, cook as desired: steam, pan-fry with butter or oil, poach in foil over coals, or simmer in a covered pot. Season to taste.

Storage & Shelf Life

• Unopened: up to 10 years when stored in the factory-sealed bag and kept out of direct sunlight.
• After opening: reseal the bag and store with the oxygen absorber and desiccant; consume opened portions within 90 days for best quality unless vacuum resealed.

This product offers a lightweight, shelf-stable seafood option that is easy to pack for backpacking, camping, emergency storage, or everyday use.

Storage and Handling

• Keep unopened pouches in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. For longest shelf life, store in a rodent-free area.
• To extend the life of opened pouches, use a home vacuum sealer or ensure the oxygen absorber remains in the bag and reseal tightly.
